MLSC U10 Black Team Champions at Goal to Goal Youth Cup in Boca Raton
On October 17-18 the Miami Lakes Soccer Club U10 Black Team were crowned "Champions" once again as they defended last years' title they won as an U9 team. They played perhaps their best tournament in their very young soccer "careers". The entire tournament they only allowed 1 goal in four games played. They began group play on Saturday versus Pinecrest Premier team which they overmatched from beggining to end with a 9-0 victory. In the afternoon, they defeated Kendall Hammocks Lightning by the score 8-0. Going into Sunday they outplayed Weston Man Utd winning 5-1, finishing group play. In the final, MLSC U10 wanted this title badly, dispatching the Kendall Hammocks Lightning once again by a score of 6-0. "This is a great springboard to the start of the upcoming regular season. It has been a pleasure watching these kids grow and get better right before my very eyes. We are so proud and happy to be representing Miami Lakes Soccer Club wherever we go!!!!" Coach Billy Rivera said.
MLSC U12 Orange
MLSC U12 Orange Tri County Early Season Champions
The MLSC U12 Orange Team lead by Coach Alvin Murray entered the semi finals the weekend of Oct 10 & 11 ready to bring home a championship. On Sat 10/10 they battled against Empire Soccer in a tight match that saw them eventually come out with a 2-0 victory. They then entered the Finals against a tough Pinecrest team. The MLSC U12 Orange Team continued where they left off on Saturday with a great performance and a second shut out for the weekend with a 3-0 victory over Pinecrest. Unfortunatlely it was a bittersweet championship weekend as one of the players David Tejeda fractured his arm on Saturday. He was there on Sunday to support his team and the team dedicated its win to him. Great job Guys!!!!!!!
MLSC U10 Black
MLSC U10 Black Finalists at Tri-County League
On October 10-11 Our MLSC U10 Black team competed in the playoffs of the Tri County pre-season league at Pace High School. They won their Semi-Final matchup on Saturday against CTC Cyclones by the score of
4-2 to advance them to the Final. On Sunday they played versus Pinecrest Premier for the championship. After dominating most of the game, the opponent managed to score to tie the game at 1-1 in the final seconds of regulation thus going into a penalty shootout were they just came a little bit short of the title. MLSC U10 Black finished the pre-season league with a great 7-1-1 record. Good luck in the regular season boys!

MLSC U10 Black Team Finalists at Palm Harbor Classic in Tampa
On September 26 and 27 Miami Lakes U10 Black team traveled 273 miles to the Tampa area for the Palm Harbor Tournament Classic. The boys represented our club very well. On Saturday Sept. 26, in the first game we shut out Lakeland FC by the score of 4-0. In the second game of the day they played a tough host team Palm Harbor Nighthawks to a 2-2 draw. On Sunday Sept. 27 in the morning MLSC U10.1 defeated handily East Lake Arsenal FC by the score of 7-1 to advance us to the championship game on goal differential. In the Championship we played a talented Plant City FC Lancers to a 1-1 draw in what the Tournament organizers said was "by far the game of the tournament." The game went into penalty kicks in which our team lost 2-1. "I am so proud of our team. We battled in 4 great games with an all-out effort and hardwork. Going into PK’s is a first for us, but we can only benefit from an experience like we had this weekend." said coach Billy Rivera
Congratulations Yarisbeth Bradfield on being selected to ODP 1997 Girls Team.
MLSC and the U13 Girls team has a reason to be very proud. Yarisbeth Bradfield was selected this past weekend at Regional A tryouts for the ODP 1997 Girls Team. She and her Coach German Carassco have worked very hard and it has shows with this selection.
